Glass-fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) are cut in series

Cutting complex, multidimensional workpieces

Glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) has become popular as a comparatively cost-effective and equally high-quality material mix made from plastics and glass-fibers. Glass-fiber reinforced plastic has a relatively high modulus of elasticity. The corrosion behavior of glass-fiber reinforced plastics is even very good in harsh environment. Therefore, GFRP represents a perfect material for containers in both systems engineering and boat building. Due to its good electric insulation properties, it is often used in electrical engineering in the form of insulators transferring high mechanical loads. Control cabinets for exterior areas are made from GFRP as well.

Clean cuts through waterjet cutting

Even complex constructions made from GFRP can be cut optimally and three-dimensionally with waterjet cutting systems by gKteso. The systems can be ideally integrated in production lines, permitting even fastest processing procedures, due to their efficient and reliable technology and cut GFRP in a multi-axle, precise manner. Whether with pure water or the addition of sand – the cuts are clean and especially suitable for operating functional components. The materials are separated by a high pressure waterjet. As there is no heat generated, it facilitates the processing of glass-fiber reinforced plastics.

Laser cutting on complex outlines

The laser cutting technology by gKteso is the ideal choice when complex outlines or areas of difficult access require powerless processing. Since deformations at the kerfs may occur during laser cutting, this procedure is useful, if these won’t represent an optical or constructional problem. Laser cutting systems by gKteso, like all of the company’s systems, are based on a modular principle. Therefore, the technology is adapted only on a small scale, in case it is needed for operating glass-fiber reinforced plastics. The variety of objects processed in laser cutting systems by gKteso is enormous. Aside from workpieces made of glass-fiber reinforced plastics, metal parts for the beverage industry, plant engineering, for the production of pipe sockets or pipe fittings, are cut and drilled. A typical example in the supplier industry are braces for car doors with drillings for connectors, but also dashboards are cut and mirrors trimmed.

Top quality in processing GFRP

gKteso’s slogan reads „Technologies & Solutions“. It is reflected in the top quality of the systems that process workpieces made of glass-fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP). Hereby, the optimum benefit for the customer is always paramount. You have questions around operating glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) and the cutting systems by gKteso?
